Michael Ryder will not be returning to Boston.
After reportedly narrowing his options to a choice between the Bruins and Devils, the free-agent winger has decided to sign with New Jersey, according to the The Star-Ledger’s Rich Chere. Ryder’s contract is worth a reported $7 million for two years.

The Devils lost top goal scorer David Clarkson on Friday after the winger signed a seven-year deal with Toronto, but they added two of the more highly touted free agents on the market in Ryder and former Rangers winger Ryan Clowe. The two — along with recently re-signed center Patrik Elias — will look to bolster a New Jersey scoring attack that ranked 28th in the NHL this season.
Ryder played a key role in the Bruins’ run to the Stanley Cup in 2011. After leaving Boston, he played a season and a half with Dallas before being traded to the Canadiens this past February. Ryder tallied 16 goals and 19 assists in 46 games between the two teams in 2012-13.
