Report: Michael Young Unlikely to Be Traded to Red Sox

Michael Young might be willing to accept a trade to the Red Sox. It doesn’t mean that he’ll actually end up in Boston.

While the Red Sox could still consider dealing for Young before the deadline, ESPN.com’s Gordon Edes reports that it’s doubtful that Boston will make a move for the 36-year-old infielder.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported earlier in the day that Young would accept a trade to the Red Sox. It was a new development, as it was previously believed that Young would only accept a trade to the Rangers. Now, the question is whether or not the Red Sox are even interested in Young.

Peter Gammons reported a few minutes prior to Edes’ tweet that the Phillies hadn’t yet called the Red Sox about Young’s willingness to go to Boston.
