Brandon Snyder, Brandon WorkmanThe Red Sox’ victory over the Yankees on Sunday night left plenty of people in need of rest, so it’s no wonder that a couple of the young bucks have been called on to fill out the Red Sox’ lineup card for Monday evening.

Ryan Lavarnway gets the start behind the dish, and Brandon Snyder will play third base. Jose Iglesias will shift to shortstop, giving Stephen Drew a spot on the bench just a couple of days after his return from the disabled list. Jonny Gomes is back in the lineup, playing left field, and Shane Victorino gets the start in right despite recent hamstring issues.

The Red Sox are also sending a youngster to the mound, as Brandon Workman (0-0, 5.40) gets his second career start tonight, facing Matt Moore (13-3, 3.44 ERA).

The Rays have elected to sit Wil Myers, who is batting .310 this year in 28 games. The 22-year-old is dealing with a sore left wrist, and although manager Joe Maddon said he’d likely be ready to go Monday, he starts this one from the pine.
