Peyton ManningThink Tom Brady and Peyton Manning get steamed when they lose to each other? Try teaming them up for some recreational golf and letting them face the specter of losing to a pair of businessmen.

While most Patriots fans would probably prefer Brady stay the heck away from Manning at all times, the two have acknowledged that they’re friends, especially in the offseason. That camaraderie hit the links before training camp this summer, Peter King reports on MMQB.com.

Brady and Manning played a round of best ball with two businessmen named Ed and Sam at Pebble Beach Golf Links, King says. Things got a little tense after Ed and Sam had a one-stroke lead after 16 holes, but Brady and Manning came through in the clutch, with Brady birdying the 17th and Manning birdying 18.

“Both of us felt like it was one of our biggest victories,” Manning said. “We could not lose to these guys because we knew it would go viral, within minutes, on SI.com.”

It sounds like all the media attention is getting in Manning’s head. Maybe this round of golf was a good idea.
