The Bruins and Tuukka Rask hope they’re able to keep their relationship together for the entirety of the goalie’s eight-year contract, and there’s certainly language in the new deal that will help ensure that.
Rask signed a new deal Wednesday for eight years and $56 million, and the reported details of that contract have begun to leak out. While Rask apparently has plenty of security for the first half of the deal, there are reportedly clauses that will allow the Bruins to try and get out from the contract toward its end, if they so choose.
According to CapGeek.com, Rask has the following no-movement/no-trade clauses during the contract.
2013-14 through 2016-17: No-movement clause (Rask can’t be traded, waived or sent down)
2017-18 through 2018-19: No-trade clause, but Rask submits eight-team trade list
2019-20 through 2020-21: No-trade clause, but Rask submits 15-team trade list

The early no-movement clause in the first four years of the deal should give Rask and the Bruins some peace of mind that he’ll be between the pipes for the near future as the team’s No. 1 goalie. The expanded ability to move Rask later in the deal — to a list of growing approved teams — should give the Bruins a little bit of flexibility if they look to move Rask.
