It’s been a busy few days for Tyler Seguin, and it’s clear that the newly acquired Dallas Stars forward is hoping to put the past behind him.
Seguin was traded to Dallas last Thursday, which was just the start of the craziness for the 21-year-old. The first-round pick in 2010 reportedly threw a party that same night — the same night a homophobic tweet was sent from his Twitter account. Seguin quickly apologized and blamed the tweet on “hackers” before eventually shutting down his Twitter account for the time being.
Naturally, that was one of the first things he was asked about when meeting the Dallas media Tuesday.
“[Dallas general manager] Jim [Nill] and I talked about it, and we thought it was  the right decision to shut down my Twitter,” Seguin told reporters. “It was very unfortunate of the time period when int was all happening. My Twitter was taken over along with a few other things that are with my name. It definitely didn’t feel good that my name was out there with saying negative things. I definitely wanna apologize to anyone who was offended and I’m definitely happy to be moving on.”
