will middlebrooksWill Middlebrooks had himself quite the night at McCoy Stadium on Wednesday.

The third baseman teed off on Scranton/Wilkes-Barre pitching, going 4-for-5 with a single, double, three-run home run and grand slam in an 11-5 win for the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox.

Middlebrooks’ eight RBIs on the night tied a PawSox record, matching a mark last set by Freddy Garcia in 2000.

Middlebrooks undoubtedly wants to play his way back up to the big-league club, but he has performed well at the plate in Triple-A thus far. In 13 games since being optioned by the Red Sox, he has gone 15-for-47 (.319) with six walks, six homers and 19 RBIs.

Jackie Bradley Jr. also homered for the PawSox — his third in the last two games — and Alfredo Aceves allowed five runs over five innings but picked up the win.
