Was there baseball before Yasiel Puig? Because most of us sure don’t remember a time when he wasn’t making a play every night.

The Dodgers rookie added to his highlight reel Wednesday night when he robbed the Rockies’ Nolan Arenado of a hit at the center field wall. The play came at a pivotal time, as the Rockies had two men on base with the Dodgers leading by two runs.

Puig chased down Arenado’s fly, catching it as he ran hard into the wall. He fell to the field after relaying the ball in, with his hip appearing to have taken the brunt of the blow from the wall. He rose after a few minutes, though, and stayed in the game, with the Dodgers winning by the same two-run margin they had when Puig made the play.

Puig came out of the game later on a double-switch, but not before driving in a run on a sacrifice fly.

“He just plays like that,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. “They kind of warned us coming up he plays like that, and he’s going to get hurt.”

Check out Puig’s wall grab in the video below, and be sure to also see the throw that put him on everyone’s radar his first night in the big leagues.
