Yoenis CespedesYoenis Cespedes will join Robinson Cano on the American League’s Home Run Derby team, but it sounds like the two won’t be sharing an agent any time soon.

Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan reported that Jay-Z, a hip-hop mogul who recently started his own sports agency, was interested in signing Cespedes and Dodgers rookie phenom Yasiel Puig. Cespedes shot down the idea of joining Jay-Z’s agency, though, and instead expressed satisfaction with the work done by his current agent, Adam Katz.

“I don’t care what it says on the Internet,” Cespedes told the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser, with a photographer translating. “I’m staying with Adam. I am very happy with Adam and with the work he’s done for me. I am very happy to work with him.”

Cespedes was recently selected by Cano, who is represented by Jay-Z’s agency, to join the AL Home Run Derby squad. Cespedes has 15 home runs and 43 RBIs to go with a .224 average for the A’s this season.
