Jonathan CooperThe Arizona Cardinals finally decided to do something about their awful offensive line this offseason, and now one of the biggest additions is out for the season.

Jonathan Cooper, the team’s first-round draft pick and projected starter at left guard, was placed on injured reserve on Friday, ending the rookie’s season, ESPN reports.

Cooper, the No. 7 pick in this year’s draft, was blocking downfield during the Cardinals’ preseason game against the Chargers on Saturday when he suffered the injury. The Cardinals led the NFL with 58 sacks allowed last season, and Cooper’s addition was one of several moves the team made to improve their offensive line.
