Clay BuchholzClay Buchholz’s return from his shoulder and neck injury is moving at a glacial pace — but it is moving.

The Red Sox righty had good news this weekend, telling reporters that he’s feeling the best he has in a while after throwing Sunday.

“This is the best I’ve felt since the day in Seattle where I threw and didn’t feel anything,” Buchholz said of the July 8-11 road trip. “That’s where we’re at.”

Buchholz has been out since June 8 with tightness in his right shoulder and neck area.

“This was the highest intensity I’ve thrown today, to the point where I’m not thinking I’m going to feel something,” he said. “I was able to let loose a little more.”

Buchholz said he was throwing at about 80 percent. He also did some long toss, although he has not thrown off a mound for some time.
