Danny Amendola Among Six Players Not Spotted at Second Consecutive Patriots Practice

Danny AmendolaFOXBORO, Mass. — It’s looking more and more like Danny Amendola will not be playing Thursday in Detroit.

Bill Belichick said the wide receiver is “day to day” in the head coach’s afternoon press conference. Amendola was not spotted out at practice for the second consecutive day. Rob Gronkowski (PUP), Mark Harrison (non-football injury), Armond Armstead (non-football illness), Brandon Jones and Jermaine Cunningham were also not seen out on the practice field.

Ras-I Dowling, Alfonzo Dennard, Marcus Cannon, Daniel Fells, Justin Francis and Kamar Aiken were in uniform (shells and shorts), but not participating. Aiken and Francis are new to that list of players. Aiken, Francis and Dennard spent the last part of practice media members got to view on stationary bikes.

It’s doubtful any of the 12 players listed above will play in Thursday’s game against the Lions. Devin McCourty has spent two straight practices in a blue jersey, not his red non-contact jersey, so he could suit up for the first time this preseason in Detroit.
