Deion Sanders Jr. could be in trouble after hanging out with one of the best friends of his famous father.
Sanders tweeted a picture last week of himself and some SMU teammates hanging out backstage with Lil Wayne. Sanders’ father, Deion Sanders, told the media the NCAA is investigating the Mustangs wide receiver, “trying to say [he] got into the concert because [he’s] an SMU player.” The former NFL cornerback clarified that Lil Wayne is one of his best friends.
SMU told College Football Talk that they’re investigating Sanders, not the NCAA.
“It’s not the NCAA. It’s our compliance office. Just doing their due diligence,” SMU official Brad Suttonsaid told Pro Football Talk via text message. “We don’t expect to find anything amiss, but it’s our responsibility to check stuff like this out.”
