Jake Peavy Says It’s ‘Not That Big of a Deal’ Facing Former Team, Only Focused on Winning Games (Video)

Jake Peavy wants to win first and foremost, and he doesn’t care who he faces while he does it.

In his first start against his former team since being traded to the Red Sox on July 30, Peavy turned in another dominant outing, allowing only two runs in his seven innings of work against the White Sox. The right-hander says it really “wasn’t that big of a deal” facing his old teammates, noting he got into “compete mode” the second he stepped on the mound.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
