Jon Lester Aimed to Keep Red Sox in Striking Distance, Minimize Damage in Loss to Toronto (Video)

This season, Jon Lester had posted an undefeated record against Toronto, but the left-hander couldn’t extend his streak to 4-0 on Wednesday night.

Lester went 6 1/3 innings for the Sox, allowing two earned runs on six hits, but he says that he didn’t feel like his offspeed pitches were working for him like they had been in his past couple of starts. Despite committing two errors himself, Lester kept the Sox within striking distance, but Mike Napoli‘s ninth-inning heroics weren’t enough as the Sox fell to the Blue Jays in extra innings.

Check out the above video to hear more from Lester.
