The Patriots storming out to a quick lead against the Eagles on Friday night wasn’t surprising, but opting to do it on the ground instead of through the air raised some eyebrows.
The Patriots ran the ball all six plays of their first drive, allowing Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount to shine in the opener, but eventually Tom Brady took the reins, and it was undrafted free agent Kenbrell Thompkins who stole the show.
