Mike Napoli Punishes Baseball, Hits Monster Home Run in Blowout Win Over Orioles (Video)

We’re used to seeing home runs hit over the Green Monster at Fenway Park and onto Lansdowne Street. What we’re not used to seeing, though, is someone hitting a ball where Mike Napoli did Tuesday night.

The Red Sox first baseman hit a ball Tuesday night that just about reached Kenmore Square. Napoli absolutely obliterated a 2-2 offering from Wei-Yin Chen that cleared the Green Monster and landed on a roof across the street.

However, if you know anything about home runs clearing Lansdowne, you might think you know which roof it landed on. Napoli didn’t land it on that roof, which is actually a parking lot. He actually landed it on the roof of the parking garage next to it, a little farther down the street going toward the House of Blues and Lansdowne Pub. According to ESPN.com’s home run tracker, Napoli’s blast traveled 432 feet, which actually seems a bit low.

In the photo below, the blue X marks about where his latest moonshot landed.
