Mike Napoli’s Home Run Will Be Enduring Image of Season Despite Eventual Loss (Video)

The Red Sox came out on the wrong end of an 11-inning decision Wednesday night, but they hope that some ninth-inning heroics will jolt Mike Napoli out of his miserable slump.

Napoli launched a two-run, two-out home run in the top of the ninth — his first since July 24 — to send the game into extras and the Red Sox bench into hysterics. The Blue Jays went on to win two innings later, but WEEI’s Mike Salk¬†says that Napoli’s homer will still serve as one of the seminal moments of this season.

Hear why in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
