Whether or not this is a case of a university trying to distance itself from a negative situation, we may never know, but Notre Dame has certainly made some waves with the tickets to its season opener against Temple University.

Twitter user “schaffs44” noticed that Notre Dame had edited Manti Te’o‘s No. 5 jersey, which he wore during his career with the Fighting Irish, and changed it to a No. 6 in the photo on the ticket he received for Saturday’s game. “shaffs44” said he noticed the number swap after seeing that the opponent name on the scoreboard had been edited to say “Temple” instead of “USC” as it did on the original photo.

Te’o, as you probably remember, was involved in an embarrassing situation last season at Notre Dame when he said he was duped into having a relationship with someone who didn’t actually exist. The linebacker, who was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in this year’s draft, was seen wearing a walking boot Thursday night after spraining his foot.

Check out photos of the tickets without Te’o’s number in the photos below.
