Who knows if David Ortiz took Alex Rodriguez‘s little home run celebration Sunday night personally. On Saturday, at least, the two appeared to be friends.

Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe had a nice little nugget in his postgame notes Saturday, indicating that the two stars of their respective teams may still be pals, too.

Ortiz and Rodriguez met in the player parking lot after Saturday’s 6-1 Sox win and left Fenway Park together in Ortiz’s SUV, according to Abraham.

Rodriguez had said Friday night that he hoped to talk to Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Jonny Gomes as an effort to explain his side of the recent accusations surrounding him and his 211-game suspension from Major League Baseball. Perhaps that was what the conversation was about.

Or maybe Ortiz was just teaching Rodriguez the proper routine for post-home run gestures.
