One of the world’s most powerful companies could be changing your Sunday football routine.

Google and NFL representatives met Tuesday to discuss the NFL Sunday Ticket package, according to AllThingsD.com. DirecTV currently owns the deal, but that contract ends following the 2014 season. The report indicates that Google CEO Larry Page, YouTube’s Robert Kyncl and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell were all present at the meeting, which is one of many for the NFL contingent traveling through Silicon Valley.

While the meeting was nothing more than “an informal chat,” it’s an indicator that the bidding war for the rights could get very interesting as the 2015 draws near.

The rights currently costs DirecTV $1 billion per year.
