James PoseyJames Posey could be back in green very soon.

No, the 36-year-old forward is not joining the rebuilding Celtics on a veteran’s minimum contract. Posey, who has been out of the NBA since 2011, reportedly is a candidate to fill one of the open slots on new head coach Brad Stevens‘ coaching staff.

Posey was a key reserve on the Celtics’ 2008 NBA championship team, but he has not played professionally since the Pacers waived him using the amnesty clause in 2011. He reportedly received $7.6 million in 2011-12 to not play as part of the provision.
