Tom BradyIt appears the Patriots have averted disaster.

Tom Brady‘s left knee injury is “not serious,” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. The Patriots quarterback “appears to have a knee sprain” and is expected to be OK, according to Dan Roche of WBZ.

The crowd at the Patriots’ joint practice with the Buccaneers went silent when Brady went down, grasping his left knee. Brady came out for one play, then took five snaps in 11-on-11s, handing off twice and completing three passes.

Brady was not wearing a knee brace during Wednesday’s practice, opting for a sleeve instead. The injury occured when Tampa Bay defensive end Adrian Clayborn bull rushed Patriots left tackle Nate Solder into the quarterback.
