It was just a matter of time that Rex Ryan was going to explode, but did we really expect it to happen this quickly?
The New York Jets head coach had his first of what could be multiple mini-meltdowns this season after the Jets’ preseason game against the Giants on Saturday night. Left to answer questions about why Mark Sanchez was playing in fourth quarter, Ryan was eventually pushed to the brink in an exchange with a reporter at his postgame press conference.
The result, of course, was highly entertaining and just the latest in the long-running soap opera that is Jets football.
The press conference will be a lasting moment, no doubt, and with that, it joins some other postgame blow-ups in a dubious collection of memorable postgame meltdowns.
