Rob Gronkowski, Brandon LloydRob Gronkowski isn’t contributing on the field for the Patriots yet, as he recovers from back surgery, but he’s helping some young football players suit up.

Gronkowski’s charity, The Gronk Nation Youth Foundation, helped donate $45,000 worth of football equipment to Brockton Pop Warner with help from the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Foundation and Dick’s Sporting Goods, according to The Brockton Enterprise. Gronkowski helped deliver 200 helmets and shoulder pads to the Brockton youngsters Wednesday afternoon.

“As a family who grew up with sports being such an important part of our lives, we’re honored to play an active role in keeping the Brockton Junior Boxers program alive,” Gronkowski told The Enterprise.

Gronkowski attended the event with his father, Gordy. The tight end is currently on the physically unable to perform list. The team will have to decide whether to keep him on the PUP list or activate him by Aug. 31. If he’s kept on the PUP list he’ll have to miss a minimum of six games.
