There’s a “pump his tires” joke in here somewhere.

Everything seems to have gone downhill for Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo since losing to the Bruins in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. Since then, he has suffered an injury, lost his starting job and has not been traded despite the fact that it appeared he was expecting to be before this season’s trade deadline.

Now, it seems that the fallen star can’t even drive anywhere — at least for the time being.

The goaltender took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to share that the tires on his SUV had been stolen. What’s more, it appears that the theft also occurred in the driveway of his own home.

The robbery evokes memories of the back-and-forth between Luongo and then-Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas during the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, when Luongo complained that Thomas hadn’t said any nice things about him all series. Thomas fired back, famously saying, “I didn’t realize it was my job to pump his tires.”

Now, there appear to be no tires to pump. Check out a photo of Luongo’s SUV — sans tires — in the tweet below.
