Shannon Brown Slips, Nearly Takes Out Spectators During Dunk Contest in Latvia (Videos)

Suns guard Shannon Brown was a contestant in the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest, but his skills appear to have gotten a bit rusty since then.

Brown’s latest dunk attempt, on an outdoor court in Riga, Latvia, ended in embarrassing fashion. After having three spectators lie down in the paint, Brown sprinted toward the hoop with the intent of leaping from near the foul line. The court had different thoughts, however, as Brown slipped at full speed and narrowly missed making life very miserable for the three innocent bystanders.

Luckily, Brown’s tumble sent him soaring over his assistants — only nicking the first with his sneaker — and all involved were able to avoid serious injury.
