If you’re having PED problems, he feels bad for you son, but Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn has 99 problems, and Alex Rodriguez ain’t one.
The new White Sox GM has had a tumultuous first year at the helm, with the South Siders struggling mightily for much of the season. On Monday night, the ChiSox provided the setting and served as the supporting actors for baseball’s biggest storyline, when Rodriguez and the Yankees invaded U.S. Cellular Field.
Monday night’s game marked Rodriguez’s 2013 debut, and it also came on the day that Major League Baseball announced the New York third baseman had been suspended for 211 games.
It was a complete circus, maybe even a welcomed distraction for Hahn and the Sox, who erased a 10-game losing streak by rolling the Yanks in the series opener. At the very least, the White Sox don’t have to worry about Rodriguez.
“You’ve seen this team play recently,” Hahn said, according to CSN Chicago (via Hardball Talk). “I’ve got 99 problems and A-Rod ain’t one of them.”
That reference, for those not familiar, is alluding to the Jay-Z song “99 Problems.” Maybe, just maybe, Hahn is starting to lay the groundwork for a relationship with the rapper, who is now trying his hand as a sports agent.
Hahn is 42 years old, for whatever that’s worth.
