Blackhawks’ Brandon Bollig Attempts to Mimic Patrick Kane’s Stickhandling, Fails Miserably (Video)

As a power forward who plays a punishing style of hockey, Chicago Blackhawks winger Brandon Bollig doesn’t have the stickhandling skills to create goals often found on highlight reels.

The 26-year-old recently attempted a similar stickhandling drill that superstar teammate Patrick Kane used for his new Bauer commercial featuring a new Vapor stick, but he was unable to display the same precision with the puck as the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner.

In fact, he failed miserably.

After doing his best to weave through the maze of pucks in the video, Bollig turned his frustration into comedy by doing a snow angel in the middle of the setup before diving headfirst into it. For his final act, the Missouri native tried to lift the puck with his stick and launch it at the camera, but a few unsuccessful attempts resulted in him throwing it toward the lens instead.

Even though his primary role is to be a grinder who provides toughness and depth, Bollig would be wise to improve his offensive skills.

Maybe Kane can teach him a few moves for the upcoming season.
