Jerry YorkBOSTON — Hockey East in the midst of ongoing transition and growth, and there’s no better example of that than the preseason coaches’ poll.

That poll was unveiled Tuesday at the conference’s annual media day. There weren’t too many surprises, but the standings do show the amount of parity up and down the conference.

Boston College once again finds itself sitting atop the preseason poll, as expectations are sky-high as always for Jerry York‘s bunch. The Eagles are not alone at top, though. UMass-Lowell, which opened many eyes last season with its Hockey East regular-season and postseaon titles as well as a trip to the Frozen Four, is tied for the top spot in the conference.

Hockey East newcomer Notre Dame is tied for third with New Hampshire, and Boston University and first-year head coach David Quinn check in at sixth, just behind Providence.
