Forwards DeShawn Sims and Damen Bell-Holter and guards Kammron Taylor and Chris Babb were all invited to camp. All four were previously expected to join the Celtics this preseason.

Sims has spent time with the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics’ D-League affiliate, and several overseas outfits since leaving Michigan in 2010. Bell-Holter is coming off a solid season with Oral Roberts, where he averaged 15.5 points and 9.4 rebounds as a senior. Babb was a defensive standout at Iowa State. Taylor may be best known as the Chris Rock impersonator who played at Wisconsin from 2003 to 2007, but has bounced around European leagues for the last six years.

The Celtics open camp by meeting with the media on Monday at their practice facility in Waltham, Mass., before heading to Newport, R.I., for the first three days of practice. The preseason opener is Monday, Oct. 7 against the Raptors at TD Garden.
