Cornell University has canceled its men’s lacrosse team’s entire fall season after an investigation revealed hazing committed by upperclassmen against underclassmen and freshman recruits.
The college announced last week that the fall season has been canceled, and outlined some the reasons why on its hazing website.
Freshman were expected to perform chores that “went above and beyond those expected of the general membership,” the website states, and were forced to compete in a “keg race” in which they were made to chug beer until some vomited.
Cornell went 14-4 last spring and lost to eventual national champion Duke in the NCAA semifinals, according to The Associated Press.
