Diamondbacks Call Dodgers’ Pool Party ‘Disrespectful, Classless’

Everyone likes a pool party. Well, almost everyone.

After the Dodgers topped the Diamondbacks on Thursday to clinch the National League West title, the men in blue partied in the locker room before taking the celebration to the famous pool in the stands at Chase Field in Phoenix.

What seemed like innocent fun really struck a nerve inside the Arizona clubhouse, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“They clinched the division this year so if that’s how they’re going to act and be classless, that’s their clubhouse,” said Diamondbacks infielder Willie Bloomquist.  “I would expect them to act with a little more class than they did. I doubt the New York Yankees would do something like that.

“I think it’s tired and disrespectful,” he added.

Or maybe they were just jealous of the sweet pool, according to one member of the DBacks organization.

“I could call it disrespectful and classless,” Diamondbacks president and CEO Derrick Hall said via email to the Arizona Republic, “but they don’t have a beautiful pool at their old park and must have really wanted to see what one was like.”
