Felix Doubront Says His Mechanics Were ‘Off,’ Has ‘No Words’ to Describe Rough Outing (Video)

The Red Sox came away with another improbable win Friday night in the Bronx, but starter Felix Doubront put them in a hole early.

Doubront lasted just 3 2/3 innings for the second consecutive start, allowing three runs on six hits and six walks. The left-hander was appreciative of his team’s late rally — Mike Napoli‘s grand slam erased a four-run deficit in the seventh — but he admitted that his mechanics were not sound, resulting in his lack of effectiveness.

Hear what he had to say in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
