Gabriel Landeskog‘s skills look to be in mid-season form, but unfortunately for the Avalanche captain’s pride, his celebrations are not yet up to par.

Colorado’s annual Burgundy-White scrimmage, a preseason event that is open to fans, was capped off with a shootout on Sunday night. Landeskog took the ice and scored top shelf on goalie Kent Patterson. Showing patience and some nifty moves in his tally, the forward tried to mimic that same smoothness in his celebration, but he was ultimately unsuccessful in that venture.

Skating backwards and away from the goal, Landeskog momentarily forgot about the boards and he fell right onto the ice after slamming into them. He does deserve points for his recovery, however, as he picked himself up and gave a nice wave to the crowd.

Check out Landeskog being a good sport about the mishap in the tweet below.

And now, for the main event.
