J.R. Smith’s Brother Gets Knicks Guard’s Face Tattooed on His Back (Photo)

Don’t worry, you’re not missing something here. Chris Smith might be, though.

Smith, younger brother of Knicks guard J.R. Smith and a pretty good player himself at Louisville, celebrated J.R.’s birthday on Monday by getting a tattoo of his big bro on his back, then posting a photo of his new ink on Instagram. The tat has a caption, of course, which reads, “Always got my back.”

The sentiment is nice, but it doesn’t actually make a whole lot of sense. Technically, this means J.R. doesn’t “have” Chris’ back, but that J.R. is always “on” Chris’ back, which means something else entirely. To each his own.
