Jaguars Unlikely to Give Away Free Beer to Sell Tickets Again After Another Poor Turnout

The Jaguars are going to great lengths to try and sell tickets, but apparently even free beer won’t fill the seats.

The Jags ran a promotion, offering free beer to fans who bought tickets last week, but the results weren’t great. Attendance at EverBank Field for Sunday’s 37-3 loss to the Colts was 59,695, according to ESPN. That number doesn’t look so bad in comparison to the stadium’s maximum capacity of 67,246  for NFL games, but it’s also just a mere 200 or so more than the Jags’ home opener against the Chiefs, which fielded 59,416.

The failed ploy to sell more seats has the Jaguars rethinking their method, though, and they’re unlikely to try the free beer scheme again, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.

With Sunday’s loss, the Jaguars fell to 0-4 on the season and are dead last in the AFC South.
