Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s Two-Run Homer Comes Too Late for Red Sox in Loss to Rockies (Video)

The Red Sox’ bats were cooled in Denver on Tuesday night, with the team managing just three runs against one of worst pitching staffs in Major League Baseball.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia accounted for two of those runs with one swing, as his home run cut Boston’s deficit to 8-3 in the top of the ninth. That’s as close as the Sox would get, however. Josh Outman and Manny Corpas combined to hold the visitors scoreless over the rest of the inning, closing out a series-opening win for the Rockies.

Hear what Salty had to say after the game in the video above.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
