Rex RyanWillie Colon is only in his first season with the Jets after six years in Pittsburgh, but he appears to have his new team’s rivalry with the Patriots down pat.

Just minutes after Colon and the Jets had polished off an 18-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday, the offensive guard was asked about this Thursday’s game in New England. Colon, a Bronx native, left no doubt about his feelings.

“We hate ’em, they know it, and we’re going to go get ’em,” Colon told the New York Post.

Linebacker Calvin Pace, a six-year veteran of the Jets’ defense, was slightly more diplomatic, admitting that New York will have to pull out all the stops against New England, despite the closer-than-expected game in Buffalo.

“The Patriots are the Patriots,” Pace said, according to the Post. “They’re going to do what they do. They’re not going to beat themselves. We’re going to have to go in there and make some plays and find a way. Normally when we play them, we have to use everybody, so there are going to be some guys out there that are a little unheralded.”

The shame of it is, the Thursday night game offers fans a short week to hear all this chirping.
