John Lackey Not Upset About Lack of Run Support, Says ‘Boys Want to Give Me Some Runs’ (Video)

The Red Sox can’t seem to put any runs on the board when John Lackey takes the mound, but the right-hander has no hard feelings about the tough luck he’s endured.

Monday’s outing marked the sixth time Boston’s offense has been shut out with Lackey pitching, but Lackey says he understands that his teammates are “grinding,” and manager¬†John Farrell says the offensive drought he’s experienced just means a lot of runs are coming his way soon.

Check out the video above to hear what else Lackey had to say about his latest start.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
