Greag Schiano, Josh FreemanThe Buccaneers have not only replaced Josh Freeman at starting quarterback with Mike Glennon but have also made it pretty clear that Freeman isn’t in the running to regain the job.

Amid reports that the team is now looking to trade him, Freeman has told Josina Anderson of ESPN that he’s ready to move on.

“No question,” Freeman said when Anderson asked him whether it was the “best thing” for him to find another team at this point. “Like I said, it’s uncomfortable to say. It might not sit well. It might not feel good, but the bottom line is for me as player, I can’t worry about everyone else. I can’t worry about what everybody is doing. I just have to focus on the best situation for me.

“Obviously the head coach has come out and said that this isn’t the place for me to be a starting quarterback. He doesn’t think that I give this team the best chance to win. I don’t agree, but at the same time I’m the player, and he’s the coach. Whatever happens next, I’m moving on. I’m going to be excited to go out and make the most of any situation.”

Anderson pressed Freeman again, asking specifically whether he wanted to be traded.

“It all gets back to this: You know I don’t for a number of reasons,” Freeman said. “But bottom line is, if you want things to change, something has got to change. At the end of the day, yes, I think that moving forward that might be, that is going to be probably the best option.”

Freeman had a rough start to this season, completing 45.7 percent of his passes and throwing for two touchdowns, three interceptions and just 571 yards over three games as Tampa Bay went 0-3. Glennon makes his first career start this week against Arizona after being picked by the Buccaneers in the third round of this year’s draft.
