Lamar Odom Khloe KardashianLamar Odom still hasn’t found his way onto an NBA roster, and his father has an idea why — his in-laws.

Odom married Khloe Kardashian of reality TV show fame in 2009, and his father, Joe, says his son was “cursed” ever since. Radar Online has an exclusive interview with Joe where he rips into members of the Kardashian family for essentially ruining Lamar’s career.

“Someone’s got to speak out, I’ve got to do something about this,” the elder Odom said in the interview. “It’s simple. They brought him down. He would be better off without them.”

The two-time NBA champion has reportedly dealt with drug abuse over the last few years, and in recent months, friends and family have tried to intervene. Odom even checked himself into an inpatient rehab facility to get help. The way Joe sees it, Lamar’s troubles begin with the Kardashians, and if it weren’t for them, he would still be in the league.

“He hasn’t really accomplished anything since he’s been with them. Without them, he’d still be in the NBA playing basketball. He’d be playing for the Lakers and be one of the top players in the league,” Odom said.

The reality TV show, Joe said, presented added pressure on Lamar, which could have been the reason he turned to drugs in the first place.

“The reality show was a curse because it put too much of his business in the limelight. That show messed him up because to me his basketball should come first. It took a lot out of him to perform for his job and in that show.”

Odom played in 82 games and stated in two in the 2012-13 season, averaging four points per game and 1.7 assists.
