After making his return to the Liverpool team during Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat by Manchester United, Luis Suarez explained why he is delighted to be available to aid the Reds’ push for success.

The Uruguayan completed the full 90 minutes at Old Trafford as Brendan Rodgers‘ team was eliminated from the Capital One Cup by Javier Hernandez‘s smart second-half finish.

Suarez was a dynamic presence in attack for the Reds, coming closest to adding his name to the score-sheet with a precise free-kick which unfortunately bounced away off the crossbar.

“The result is not good because we lost, but the feeling is good because we played very well, we created chances and we missed,” he told Liverpoolfc.com postgame.

“I know it was a difficult moment but for myself and for the team it’s very important I’m back because I can help the team and [being] off the pitch I can’t. We’ll keep going for the week and for the next game.

“All the time I try my best on the pitch. I’m here to help the team and help Liverpool and I’ll try my best.”
