Duke basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski has met a lot of famous people over the years, but there’s at least one person who he got really, really excited to meet. Cool under pressure on the court, it was one of the world’s biggest celebrities that got Coach K real nervous.
The Duke head coach recently spoke to the incoming Duke grad students, and and included in his remarks was the story about the time he met Beyonce. Admitting he was “madly in love” with the singer (missing a painfully obvious “Crazy in Love” reference), Krzyzewski recalled the somewhat awkward encounter. Well, from his point of view, it was kind of awkward. It was Beyonce, after all.
“I come up and I say, ‘You’re my favorite,'” he recalled. “My face is red as can be, you know, I’m like 4 feet tall right now. And she says, ‘Well, that’s nice.’”
