Mike McCarthyThe Packers want none of what Jim Harbaugh is cooking.

Harbaugh got riled up after Packers linebacker Clay Matthews delivered a “cheap shot” on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick during Sunday’s game, starting something of a melee between the two teams. The 49ers head coach was still heated on Monday, calling Matthews out and saying that if he wanted to be a “tough guy,” he should have “come with some knuckles” in the fight.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy wasn’t taking the bait, though. He remained his calm and collected self when responding to questions about Harbaugh’s comments, according to Pro Football Talk.

“Clay Matthews is not a dirty player, by no means,” McCarthy said. “I addressed Harbaugh’s comments in the team meeting, and as always, we’ll stay above it.”

McCarthy is taking the high road in the situation and trying not to let the incident affect his team. Then again, he doesn’t have quite as much leeway as Harbaugh right now, considering the Packers are now 0-1 on the season with a tough test against Washington next.
