It didn’t quite reach “Natinals” level, but the Nashville Predators had a little issue with spell check earlier this week.
The team sent out an email blast to season ticket holders on Tuesday, informing them of discounted parking options and inviting them to pick up their “Citizens of Smashville Passport” at Bridgestone Arena this Saturday. The email, brought to light by J.R. Lind of the Nashville Post, was rather nondescript overall — until the very last line, which can be seen below.
The misspelling of the club’s nickname quickly made its rounds on sports blogs and social media, and Keith Olbermann even dedicated a segment of his new show to bashing it. But, to their credit, the Perds — err, Preds — took the gaffe in stride, releasing an excellent follow-up email that more than made up for their original lack of copy editing.
