With an Oakland loss on Saturday, Boston officially secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, and will host the AL wild card winner in front of the Fenway Faithful on Oct. 4. Dustin Pedroia spoke after the game, voicing his excitement to be able to play in front of Red Sox fans.
The second basemen also hinted at their never-say-die attitude as he remarked that playing at home “helps us that we get to hit last.”
