brunoWeek 1 of the NFL is just getting underway, but Super Bowl chatter is already in the air.

According to USA Today, Bruno Mars has been selected to be this year’s halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLVIII. The National Football League will reportedly make the official announcement on Sunday, a source told The Associated Press.

Beyonce headlined during this year’s game, in which the Ravens defeated the 49ers 34-31. Mars has big shoes to fill, but the singer-songwriter boasts a bevy of hits including “When I Was Your Man,” “Grenade” and “Locked Out of Heaven.”

The Grammy winner may want to pack his coat, however, as this year’s game is slated for Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium — home of the New York Jets and the New York Giants — in New Jersey, and it marks the first time the big game will be played outdoors in a cold-weather climate.
