Young 7-footers just aren’t in as high demand as they used to be, apparently.
Less than 15 months after the Celtics selected him in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft, Fab Melo is headed to his third team. Melo, 23, will be invited to Dallas Mavericks training camp, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.

The Celtics traded Melo to the Grizzlies in August for Donte Green in a cost-cutting move. The Grizzlies waived Melo two weeks later. Because Melo cleared waivers, the Grizzlies would have to pay him his 2013-14 salary, which was guaranteed under his rookie contract, unless he signs a contract with another team.
