Von MillerVon Miller is now halfway through his six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, but his crimes might have been even worse than that.

Miller, 24, tested positive for a banned substance during the offseason, which prompted the NFL to suspend him for four games, but he also tried to corrupt the NFL’s drug testing policy, according to ESPN.

The Broncos’ linebacker worked with a league approved urine collector to try and switch his sample during a test this offseason. The report says that the collector met Miller during the offseason in Miami and was star-struck by the Broncos’ player. The switch might have worked, too, but a second collector discovered that Miller was not in town at the time when his sample was supposed to be taken.

Miller’s attempt to deceive the NFL, which almost resulted in a season-long suspension, is what led to the two-game increase on his total. The 2011 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and two-time Pro Bowler is scheduled to return to the Broncos after Week 6.
